EscargotA tale of epic proportions |
![]() |
In 2005 I threw my cosy and static existence away, downsized my material life into a rucksack, and set off on my travels. I'm at pains to point out that it's not a 'gap year', being neither a gap nor a year.
My inclination is towards overland travel, as it allows me to encounter all kinds of interesting people and places along the way, instead of speeding obliviously overhead. It really allows one to appreciate the size and diversity of the world!
An unavoidable feature of travelling across the world at snail's pace is that it takes ages and covers a lot of ground.
Since the journey by nature is long and rambling, the tale of the journey is likely to bear a distinct resemblence. So I've decided to the split the account into separate sections (most of which have yet to occur...).
Starter – Europe and Asia (Escargot 05)
Main course – Australasia (Escargot 06)
Pudding – Selection from the Americas trolley (Escargot 07)
